Electric Car Charging Station with Coulomb CT500

Turn Your Home into an Electric Car Charging Station with Coulomb CT500

Sorry gas and diesel guzzling friends but the dream of putting up your very own fuel pump just outside your residence or inside your garage will not be easy as tapping into a fuel line. But for Electric Vehicle owners, well, that’s entirely a different story. Coulomb Technologies just recently announced the availability of its residential charging stations for electric vehicles–Coulomb’s new CT500 Level II ChargePoint Networked Charging Stations.

To the delight of electric car owners, they are specifically designed for home and light commercial use. It’s just like owning your own fuel station without the gasoline smell and danger of explosion but healthy contribution to green house gasses. The recent product launch broadens Coulomb’s range of products for EVs from home to Level III fast charging stations. CT500 charging stations will be available through Coulomb’s OEM and distribution channels. The ChargePoint Network is based on an open interface, standards-based system that provides station and now home owners, with suite of applications to market and bill for electric transportation fueling services and to make recharging even easier.
The CT500 charging station is a 7.2 kw single output station intended for residential and light business applications. The station features Level II (208/240 V @ 30 A) charging and is compatible with plug-in electric vehicles that meet the terms of SAE J1772 plug-in electric vehicle-charging standard. The CT500 also features small and flexible network interfaces and is compatible with Leviton’s recently announced innovative Evr-Green EVSE installation system.
