Magellan GPS 100

the Magellan 100 boasts a durable chassis with rubber armor, water-resistant casing, and impact-resistant plastic. With such feature, this gadget can withstand excessive use even in challenging weather condition.

When it comes to navigational technologies, this GPS features TrueFix which supports 14 parallel channels and EGNOS and WAAS that makes it possible for this gadget to receive signal faster and more consistent.
Another impressive feature is the Magellan 100’s capability to support 20 routes, 2,000 trackpoints, and 500 points of interests (POI). These data are not built inside the system of the GPS, rather, it is the user who will provide such information.
One downside is that this GPS can only support a relatively smaller number of POI in its database compared to other high-end navigational tools which can support up to millions of landmarks and important facilities, services, and accommodations.
While this “weakness” may be a deal-breaker, the GPS at least allows users to save 20 routes that will guide them to locate their favorite spots and important places that are relevant for them as a traveller. This capability is then partnered with an alarm that will alert people if they are already 250-ft from their destination.
Meanwhile, the Magellan GPS 100 uses a four-level grayscale LCD display (measuring 2.3-inch) that features amber backlight for easy viewing.
In addition, the navigational tool uses two “Double A” batteries which are not included upon purchase. And when tested, the gadget lasted about 14 hours (without turning on the backlight) using two batteries.
The GPS gadget also has different language settings including English, Spanish, Finnish, Italian, Swedish, French, etc.
Other features include: three types of navigation screens; full keyboard with joystick; built-in electronic compass; and technologies that provide distance, elevation, speed, time of arrival, and time of enroute.
