Nokia 5230 Mobile Phone Review

When it comes to design, the phone has close resemblance with Nokia 5800 Xpress Music with its candy-shaped design

Because this phone comes in cheaper price, consumers should not be surprised that this mobile device lacks Wi-Fi Technology that could give them Internet signal. But to make up for this shortcoming, the gadget has 3G connectivity for web browsing albeit this is a paid service unlike the Wi-Fi.
Another downside is that the phone has a built-in camera with only 2-megapixel resolution, 3x digital zoom, and lack of built-in flash.
When it comes to design, the phone has close resemblance with Nokia 5800 Xpress Music with its candy-shaped design. Overall, the phone can be considered compact and lightweight (4.37-inch tall, 2.03-inch wide, and 0.61-inch thick / 3.98-oz) and slick with its silver-and-white chassis.
Meanwhile, the phone has a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen that supports 16 million colors and 640 x 360 pixel resolution that make the images appear bright and clear. However, the onscreen keyboard appears to be small which makes it challenging for some people to type.
Some consumers also complained about the phone’s not-so-user-friendly interface. For example, the capacitive screen lacks smooth scrolling and that the double-tapping is required when doing web browsing. Also, the phone is using an old mobile OS that is not as fast as other platforms (but Nokia will introduce a new version of the phone that has Symbian 3 OS in the next coming months).

Despite some of its deal-breakers, the phone has something to brag about as it can support Ovi Store that will allow consumers to download applications such as games, themes, videos, and music. And while the gadget can support Nokia Music Store that offers a great selection of music, its service is not available in the US.
